Forming hearts, enriching minds
Sacred Heart Academy is a Diocesan school in Grand Rapids, Mich., serving families with children in preschool through 12th grade. Located on the city’s West Side, we have been educating students and sharing the Catholic faith for more than 110 years. Building on this rich history as Sacred Heart of Jesus School, in 2013, we embarked in a new direction, refounding ourselves as Sacred Heart Academy and becoming one of the first Catholic classical academies in the state.
What we offer as a school community is unique in the Grand Rapids area and exceptional, even on a national scale.
We provide full-time educational programs to 3-year-olds through 9th graders and a part-time program called Classsical Enrichment Courses (CEC) to students in 1st-12th grade from area homeschooling families. We are in the process of growing our classical high school and by the 2018-2019 academic year, we will offer full-time programs from preschool through 12th grade.
We are on a mission to prepare and help students live authentically and vibrantly as Catholics. We do this by grounding our entire school and parish community in the sacramental life of the Church, seeking to strengthen and assist families, and striving for academic excellence.
We offer a rigorous education, centered on the Incarnation and dedicated to the pursuit of truth, goodness and beauty. At Sacred Heart Academy, we strive to create a community and environment where students can freely and joyfully pursue truth.
