At Sacred Heart Academy, we strive to educate the whole person—mind, body, spirit. Our athletics program allows students to develop important life skills such as discipline, perseverance and teamwork in an encouraging, structured, challenging and fun environment.

Meet our Athletic Director

JimHiske_athleticsJim Hiske – Our Athletic Director, Mr. Jim Hiske, his wife Amber and their 3 children are proud members of Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Their children are and will be enrolled at Sacred Heart Academy.  Jim’s  other great passion is sports, both playing and coaching. He played baseball in high school and has also played basketball most of his life. He has eight years of coaching experience in both baseball and basketball at Holy Spirit Parish and Sacred Heart.  He is looking forward to continue the growth of the Sacred Heart Academy Athletics Program.

Jim welcomes any and all youth, whether a member of the Academy OR just the Parish, to participate in sports at Sacred Heart Academy where our biggest focus will be on spreading Christ by our sportsmanship, virtue, honor and integrity. 

How to Participate in Athletics at Sacred Heart Academy

We continue to grow our sports program at Sacred Heart Academy according to interest and feasibility. Currently we offer students the opportunity to participate in the following sports:

Fall Sports: Football, Boys Soccer, Girls Volleyball, Cross Country, Sideline Cheer.

Winter Sports: Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Competitive Cheer.

Spring Sports: Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Girls Soccer, Tennis (6th – 8th only), Boys Track, Girls Track.

If you wish to participate in athletics, please follow the steps below.

Step 1:  New this year for FOOTBALL, GRACEAC will have their own teams.  There will no longer be teams for individual Schools.  Once you sign up, the teams will be put together and you’ll be contacted about practices.  Please sign up using this link 2017 Fall Football Sign Ups.

For all other Fall Sports, sign up through the following link 2017 Fall Sports Sign Ups.

Step 2: Turn in completed MHSAA Physical Form for upcoming School year, prior to the START of practices.  Your are considered current if completed after April 15th of Previous School Year.  New This year, we will be offering Physicals at SHA.  Please look for more information in the News Letter.

Step 3: One parent is required to come to the Sign Up, with their Athlete(s) for the Spring, Winter, or Fall Sport your child(ren) wishes to participate in.  (Sign ups will be announced through the Church bulletin, School Newsletter, Etc)

Step 4: Turn in all completed paperwork to Jim Hiske by submitting forms directly to the academy office or by email to

Knights of Columbus 2017 Soccer Challenge

The Knights of Columbus present their annual Soccer Challenge on September 11th immediately after school.  Please see the links below for the entry forms and pictures form the 2016 KoC Soccer Challenge.

The District Finals will be held immediately following the Council Challenge so if you are a winner at the Council level, you can immediately participate at the next level.
